Insider's Edge:
At 6'5", and 230 lbs, Evengi Artukhin isn't just a Left Wing: He's a Russian mountain. Like a mountain, he plays an uneven, very physical game.
“He has size and skating ability,” states one source, “but he’s very raw.”
Those working with Artukhin believe that he has the time iron out the deficiencies in his game. If his size doesn't give him a hall pass to the NHL, perhaps the NFL should come calling. Anyone know how to translate "middle line backer" into Russian?
“There are elements of his game he needs to work on, but he’s young.”
Insider’s Edge:
In the diamond-in-the-rough department, Lukas Krajicek is described as another “raw talent."
“He’s not a stay at home defenseman. He’s got size and great skating ability.”
Krajicek enters his first pro season after tallying 53 points in 52 junior hockey games last year. His placement at the AAA level from juniors is a big vote of confidence for this young man's future.
Insider's Edge:
Riccard Wallin is a smart player with good size. He excelled in the Swedish Elite League before entering the AHL last season.
“He has great vision on the ice,” said one source. “He possesses great hands and has worked hard to become a good skater.”
Wallin continues to make a good adjustment to the North American game and could be contributing to the Wild in the near future.
